Teeball and coach pitch information!

Important Information for Teeball and Coach Pitch Players and Families

Burrillville Little League is getting things ready for another great season of baseball in 2022! While the older kids get started a little bit sooner than the teeball and coach pitch kids, we are just about ready to finalize the rosters and schedules for these younger divisions but we wanted to share some information in case you have missed it up to this point.

First, the biggest change for 2022 is that for the teeball and coach pitch divisions, we will be "flipping" the schedule. In previous years, we would have 2 games during the week and a practice on Saturday. This year, we are going to have 2 practices during the week with games on Saturdays! This will give coaches a chance to have more time and opportunities to instruct our youngest ballplayers. It will also give the players more small group and individual instruction!

Some dates to be ware of:

Saturday, April 16 - Burrillville Little League Opening Day! Individual and team photos, opening ceremonies, exhibition games, player home run derby, coaches home run derby and more! Your coach will be in touch regarding time for your team's photos and other specifics for the day!

Monday, April 18 - Teeball and coach pitch teams begin practice. Once rosters are finalized, we will put together the practice and game schedules. Your coach will send you the full schedule and you will receive practice and game reminders directly from the league.

Saturday, April 30 - Teeball and coach pitch games begin!

Equipment and uniforms:

Many of you are likely wondering what your player will need for the season. Here is a brief breakdown:

Your player needs:

Glove - all players should have a glove that fits properly (isn't too big)

Not required but many players have:

Helmet - many players bring their own helmets but the league has helmets for use at each game
Bat - similarly, many players bring their own bat but we have enough to go around!
Baseball cleats - many players wear cleats for practices and games. The fields can be damp (especially in the eqarly mornings!) but cleats are not mandatory at these levels
baseball pants - players do not need to wear baseball pants at these levels. There are inexpensive baseball pants options at sporting goods stores, if you choose to purchase them

We will provide:

Baseball socks
